Studio Giftig is composed of the Dutch artist duo Niels van Swaemen (1981, Eindhoven) and Kaspar van Leek (1983, Philipsburg St. Maarten). They came into contact with each other in 2007, when both individuals had been active in the street art scene for some time. Over the following years, the duo developed a common painting style, through which they became known for their highly detailed (sur)realistic murals. In addition to the quality of the paintings, Studio Giftig’s characteristic visual language lies in the fact that all images are designed autonomously.
